Dental Emergencies

Dental Emergencies

Dental emergencies deserve immediate care. They can interfere with daily activities and cause extreme discomfort. Dental issues left untreated can cause the spread of infection and even lead to the loss of teeth.

Dental Emergencies in Hurrican

Dr. James Powell and our team at Zion Dental want to remedy your dental crisis by providing care as quickly as possible. We offer an array of services on a same-day basis

Dental emergencies include severe tooth pain, injury, dental appliance damage and loss, or the sudden onset of periodontal symptoms.

Tooth pain A cavity (tooth decay) can spread to the root of the tooth causing infection and possible tooth loss. Root canal therapy is often necessary to preserve the rest of a patient’s smile.

A knocked-out tooth can sometimes be reattached if done so in a timely manner. Avulsed teeth (knocked-out) need to be kept hydrated, preferably in its original socket or a glass of milk, until Dr. Powell can attend to it. The reattachment procedure involves splinting the tooth to the mouth with soft wire or composite materials.

Lost or broken restorations are inconvenient at best and inhibit dental function. Having your restoration repaired or replaced quickly is important as the longer the prosthetic is displaced, the more likely complications will arise.

Periodontal (gum) disease can progress rapidly and threaten the permanence of your smile. Painful gums should be addressed promptly to avoid tooth loss and halt the progression of periodontal disease.

Zion Dental wants to preserve the health and beauty of your smile, ensuring that you can go about your daily life as you normally would.
